Indonesia's logistics industry is predicted to surge by up to 12.5% in 2025.

JAKARTA - Indonesia's logistics industry is predicted to continue its rapid growth. Based on data from Supply Chain Indonesia (SCI), this sector is projected to grow by 12.53% in 2025, up from 9.52% the previous year.

This optimism is supported by improvements in the national economy, global trade policies, and digital transformation in the logistics sector.

One logistics company optimistic about this trend is Hyper Mega Shipping (HMS). HMS is a major player in the logistics industry with branches in Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Singapore, and Hong Kong.  

1. Challenges and Competitive Strategies in the Logistics Market

HMS CEO Reef Man, through HMS Business Development Manager, Bima Swastika Aryasena, emphasized that there is no instant strategy for success in the logistics industry, stating that there are no "shortcuts" to success. 

"The key is to provide the best service with honesty and dedication to customers," said the HMS representative.

During the pandemic, HMS faced significant challenges, particularly in ensuring the smooth flow of the global supply chain. However, with its "innovative connectivity power" strategy, the company successfully maintained its business stability.

Although the prospects for the logistics industry look bright, there are several challenges that need to be anticipated, such as fuel price fluctuations, global trade policies, and changes in regulations in various countries. 

HMS emphasized that the future of logistics will depend on technology and a strong global network. 

"We continue to develop innovations, including the digitalization of logistics processes, and build connections with partners in various countries," he explained.

HMS also highlighted the role of Hong Kong and Singapore as major transshipment ports in their export strategy. 

"We see a trend of increasing exports to Latin America, so our shipping strategy will increasingly utilize hubs in Asia," he said.
