Expanding Network to Export Market, Hyper Mega Shipping Joins Trade Expo Indonesia 2024

The 39th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) event which took place at the International Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD, Tangerang, Banten, December 9-12, 2024, drew high enthusiasm from related buyers and investors. One of them is the participation of Hyper Mega Shipping (HMS), a leading freight forwarding company in Indonesia.

At this year's TEI, HMS took place at Booth 57, Hall 7, ICE BSD.

According to HMS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ms. Reef, HMS's participation in the Ministry of Trade (MoT) initiated TEI is an effort to strengthen the company's branding. 

“We make various efforts to continue to exist to introduce our services as freight forwarding professionals,” said Ms. Reef, Thursday (10/10/2024).

The participation also aims to bring in customers and expand new business networks, as well as increase revenue for the company along with a series of activities initiated ahead of HMS' 20th anniversary.

Ms. Reef also expressed her gratitude for the hard work and sincere support so that HMS can grow big until today. HMS, which has been established for 20 years, was originally just a small office in Jakarta driven by five people.  

“We now have branches in Surabaya, Semarang, Hong Kong and Singapore. We hope to open more branches in the coming years,” said Ms. Reef.

“We will continue to maintain our commitment to sustainability and green logistics,”
she added.  

HMS therefore continued to develop Electronic Delivery Online (EDO), to systematize Container Freight Station (CFS) warehouses, an online membership booking system for customers, obtain ISO certification, and adopt ERP.

“So that we can integrate our systems, from human resources (HR), sales, marketing, operations to finance, which will improve our business efficiently and effectively in the long run,” Ms. Reef said.

For visitors who want to get to know HMS, the company will conduct a “Getting to Know HMS” socialization to visitors at the Prefunction Stage, Hall 2, on Friday (11/10/2024) at 13.00-14.00 WIB. 

Regarding the 39th TEI itself, the event was officially opened by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Banten, Wednesday (9/12/2024). The largest international trade show in Indonesia took the theme “Build Strong Connection with the Best of Indonesia”.

Meanwhile, in his report, Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan admitted that the 39th TEI was responded positively by buyers or foreign buyers.

This year, the number of foreign buyers who committed to attend was recorded at 6,647. That is, it jumped up to 124.4 percent from the number of buyers in 2023 which was recorded at 2,961. The number of buyers in 2024 was dominated by non-traditional markets with a percentage reaching 60.57 percent. Meanwhile, buyers from traditional markets amounted to 39.43 percent.

“We appreciate and thank the full cooperation and support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Indonesian representatives in partner countries, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and chambers of commerce of friendly countries that have made maximum efforts in attracting foreign buyers,” said Zulkifli Hasan.

Furthermore, Zulkifli revealed, in 2014 or 10 years ago, the first TEI
President Jokowi's administration resulted in transactions amounting to 1.42 billion US dollars. While in
2023, TEI is able to record total transactions reaching 30.5 billion US dollars.

“In 10 TEI events, including two online events due to the pandemic, TEI was able to achieve significant progress in its contribution to economic growth towards an advanced Indonesia,” said Zulkifli Hasan.
